Iván Ferreiro (Vigo, Galicia), an indie rock and pop-rock music composer, was for 13 years of his musical career the leader, lead singer, and main songwriter of the renowned band Los Piratas. With them, he released 12 albums and left a great musical legacy that is still revered today.
After splitting from Los Piratas in late 2003, Iván decided to continue in the music world alongside his brother, Amaro Ferreiro, presenting an eclectic show called “Rai Doriva y As Ferreiro”.
In 2005, he released “Canciones para el tiempo y la distancia”, an album that would cement his status as a solo singer and influence the entire Spanish pop-rock music scene of the time. In it, we find hugely popular songs such as “Turnedo”.
In 2006, he released his new album, “Las siete y media”, followed by “Mentiroso mentiroso” (2008), “Picnic Extraterrestre” (2010), and “Confesiones de un artista de mierda” (2011). The latter albums began to project the creative and innovative Iván Ferreiro who has hundreds of concerts under his belt: Mexico, Argentina, London, Paris, Berlin, Dublin… endless tours throughout Spain. In “Val Miñor-Madrid” (2013), he narrates his life journey between those two places. Three years later, he released his next work: “Casa”, which came out in 2016 and went straight to No. 1 on the sales charts in its very first week of release.
In 2018, he presented a cover album titled “Fariña Misturas”, and that same year he also released his new album “Cena Recalentada”, a tribute to Golpes Bajos. In 2021, he embarked on a very special tour: Cuentos y canciones.
In 2023, he released “Trinchera Pop”, an album with which he earned the respect of both critics and the public alike, featuring songs like “En el alambre” and “En las Trincheras de la Cultura Pop”. This album won Best Pop-Rock Album at the 2024 Premios de la Academia de la Música (Music Academy Awards).
He is currently on his “Hoy x Ayer” tour, a celebration of his 35-year music career that will review the most emblematic songs of his trajectory, from Los Piratas to the present day.
